Exams

There will be two midterm examinations and a final examination. Most likely, all exams will be take home. The tentative dates for the midterms are as follows:

Exam 1	10/20
Exam 2	11/8	Solutions

The Registrar's Office has scheduled the final exam for December 4, 8 - 11am, but, as mentioned above, this exam will be take-home and will be due during the final exam period.

Homework Policy

• Homework will be assigned daily and will be due Wednesday of the following week.
• Homework assignments will be announced in class and will be posted on the course assignment's web page.
• Late homework will not be accepted in the absense of divine intervention or matters of similar weight.
• Unexcused late and missing papers count zero.
• Homework is to be written neatly using only one side of each page of paper. Do not use paper from a spiral notebook unless you can tear off the ragged edge. All pages of an assignment are to be stapled or paper-clipped together.
• Write in complete sentences. You should be able to read your solutions as fluently as if you were reading your textbook.

Grades

The course grade will be based upon the scores of the homework, midterm exams and the final exam as follows:

Homework	100 points
Midterm Exams	200 points
Final Exam	150 points
Total	450 points

The Honor Principle

On Exams: No help given or received

On Homework: Students are permitted and encouraged to collaborate with one another on homework assignments. However, each student must complete the final draft of each assignment individually and independently. No copying!

Office Hours

To make it easier for all of us, I will hold office hours on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday nights, 8 - 9 pm, in Gerry 104.
Of course, I will still also be available by appointment.

Disabilities

Students with disabilities who will be taking this course and may need disability-related classroom accommodations are encouraged to make an appointment to see their instructor as soon as possible. Also, they should stop by the Academic Skills Center in Collis Center to register for support services.
