Exams |
---|
There will be two "midterm examinations" and a final project to be presented in a poster session.
Midterm 1 | Monday April 21, 2008 | 6pm-8pm Carpenter 013 |
Midterm 2 | Monday May 12, 2008 | 6pm-8pm Carpenter 013 |
Final Project | Friday May 30, 2008 | 3pm-6pm Kemeny 006 |
There is going to be no final exam in addition to the final project. Although, you are required both to make a poster showing the results of your experiment and to submit a short paper of the same experiment. Some templates will be given later during the course. You can work in groups for this, up to a maximum of three people.
Homework Policy |
---|
Grades |
---|
The course grade will be based upon the scores on the midterm exams, the homeworks, the quizzes, and the final project as follows:
Homeworks and quizzes | 30% |
Midterm Exam 1 | 20% |
Midterm Exam 2 | 20% |
Final Project | 30% |
The Honor Principle |
---|
On Exams: No help given or received
On Homework: Each person in the class has the potential to receive a homework assignment distinct from anyone elses, but all cut from the same mold. For example if the problem were to find the minimum of ax^2 + bx + c, each student would receive their own values of a, b, and c.
Collaboration on homework is permitted and encouraged, but obviously it is a violation of the honor code for someone to provide the answers for you.
