    Exams

There will be two "midterm examinations" and a final project to be presented in a poster session.

    Midterm 1 Monday April 21, 2008 6pm-8pm Carpenter 013
    Midterm 2 Monday May 12, 2008 6pm-8pm Carpenter 013
    Final Project Friday May 30, 2008 3pm-6pm Kemeny 006

There is going to be no final exam in addition to the final project. Although, you are required both to make a poster showing the results of your experiment and to submit a short paper of the same experiment. Some templates will be given later during the course. You can work in groups for this, up to a maximum of three people.

    Homework Policy

    Grades

The course grade will be based upon the scores on the midterm exams, the homeworks, the quizzes, and the final project as follows:

    Homeworks and quizzes 30%
    Midterm Exam 1 20%
    Midterm Exam 2 20%
    Final Project 30%

    The Honor Principle

On Exams: No help given or received

On Homework: Each person in the class has the potential to receive a homework assignment distinct from anyone elses, but all cut from the same mold. For example if the problem were to find the minimum of ax^2 + bx + c, each student would receive their own values of a, b, and c.

Collaboration on homework is permitted and encouraged, but obviously it is a violation of the honor code for someone to provide the answers for you.

    Tutorials

Tutorial assistance for this course, that is, help with your homework, will be available in 108 Kemeny, Wednesday and Sundays evenings 7pm - 9pm. Tutorials will begin on Sunday, March 30.

    Disabilities

Students with disabilities who will be taking this course and may need disability-related classroom accommodations are encouraged to make an appointment to see their instructor as soon as possible. Also, they should stop by the Academic Skills Center in Collis Center to register for support services.
