• Homework 4 due April 27. Office hours held on Tuesday, April 26, 2 - 4. X-hour to be held on Thursday, April 28 for answering questions and working out problems. Exam on Friday, April 29. There will be an in-class portion of the exam and a take-home portion. The take-home part will be given out at the end of the class on Friday and will be due in class on Monday, May 2.

• The homework assignment due on Monday, 4/11 is to be changed as follows: you do not have to hand in the problems on 2.4 since that section was not discussed in class. Those problems will be part of the assignment for the following week. You are to hand in the problems on 2.3 since part of that section was discussed in class.

Classes held Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10:00 - 11:05 (x-hour Thursday, 12:00 - 12:50) in Room 28 Haldeman (basement).

It is each student's responsibility to be aware of academic deadlines as stated by the Registrar.

Homework & Examinations

• Problems from the text will be assigned weekly. The assignment for a given week will consist of all the problems listed as Written Homework for that week. It will be due in class on the following Monday, except possibly for the last weeks of the term. For more details, see Syllabus and Homework Assignments.


• There will be a take-home midterm which will be handed out the fifth or sixth week of the term. The final will also be a take-home exam.

The Honor Principle

• On Exams: No help given or received.
  

• On Homework: Students are encouraged to work together with one or two classmates and/or to seek help from the instructor. Those students who do not know of anyone to work with but would like to collaborate should contact the instructor. Students should state on their homework paper the names of those with whom they have collaborated. What is important in doing homework is the eventual understanding of the problems. When a student writes up a homework solution it is to be his or her own understanding of how to solve the problem. The solutions that a student submits must be written by him or her alone. Any copying of another person's solutions, in whole or in part, will be regarded as a violation of the Honor Code.
