This is the web page for Math 29.

We meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 1:45-2:50 in Room 104 Bradley. Beginning April 4 we meet in Room 105, Choate House.

Your instructor is Jim Baumgartner. You can always communicate by Blitz.

The book for the course is Computability by Nigel Cutland. It is available in the bookstore and some used copies are available.

There is no syllabus in the usual sense. Essentially we will try to cover the first seven chapters, with some exceptions in the sixth chapter, like 6.2 and 6.4. The time each chapter is to be covered is still open, and can be influenced by many things including the students. The best way to get the syllabus is to read the book.

Homework will generally be due once a week. There will be a midterm take-home exam and a final exam, also take-home.

At present the only known changes to the time are the fact

there will be no class Friday, April 6 and Monday April 9.

We will occasionally use the x-period Thursday from 1 to 1:50. To make up the clsses missed we must meet April 12 and April 19.
