Math 20 Course Information

Discrete Probability

Summer term 2004

Meeting times. This course meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:30 pm with X-hour at 1:00-1:50 Tuesday. Professor Winkler is teaching the course. All classes and exams will be in Bradley 105.

Homework. Homework problems will be due each class at the beginning of class. Homework assignments will be posted on the class web page (www.math.dartmouth.edu/~m20x04). They will normally be posted the evening after class so that the homework can be based on what is actually covered in class.

Grading. Final exam 50%, hour exams 20% each, homework and class participation 10%. Homework will be graded by Kiran Parkhe (when it is handed in on time). You shouldn't worry about missing an occasional assignment, but make sure you have looked at all of them at some point!

Exams. There will be two "mid-term" exams and a final. The first mid-term will be held at classtime on Friday July 16, the second on Friday August 6.

Office Hours. Professor Winkler's office hours are M&Tu 2-3 and W 10-11, with occasional amendments posted on the website. You are also welcome to make appointments or just meet after class if these times are not convenient; but, please do come at some point early in the term, even if you have no problem, just to introduce yourself.

Students with disabilities.
