Office hours: Monday 9:30–11:00 AM, Wednesday 4-5:30 PM, Friday 4-5:30 PM and by appointment. I am very flexible with appointments, so do not hesitate to schedule one if needed.


Lectures: This course meets Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 11:30-12:35 PM in Kemeny 105, X-period is Tuesday 12:15 -1:05 PM. We will try to use the X-hour quite occasionally. If we meet during the X-hour this will be announced.

 

Textbook: “Real Analysis, A First Course”by Russel A. Gordon, second edition, published by Addison Wesley. Available at Wheelock Books.

Exams:

There will be a takehome Midterm Examination and a takehome Final Examination. The Midterm Exam will be distributed on Wednesday January 30 and it will be due on Monday February 4. The Final Exam will be distributed on the last day of classes Wednesday March 6 and it will be due on Monday March 11.


Homework:

Regular homework will be assigned at every lecture and it will be collected at the first lecture of the following week. The homework assignment will be posted at http://www.math.dartmouth.edu/~m35w19/Homework.html

Late Homework will not be accepted (except for emergency cases).

Unexcused late and missing homework counts zero.


Honor policy:

On Exams: No help given or received. Calculators are not allowed.

On Homework: Collaboration is permitted and encouraged, but NO COPYING .

If you aren't sure if something is a violation of the Honor Principle, ask before doing it.
