Read what we will cover in class on 2/26: Chapter 13

When reading Chapter 13 pay special attention to the following concepts:

  • zero-divisors, integral domain, cancellation, field, Theorem 13.2 and its corollary, characteristic of a ring, Therorems 13.3, 13.4.

Problems

The following problems are due by the beginning of class on Friday 2/26.
  • Ch 12 : 2, 4, 6, 18, 19, 22, 36, 43, 44, 45.
  • For 4, think about Zn for a small n.
