When reading 13.9 pay special attention to the following concepts: transformation, C-1 transformation, Jacobian, change of variables in a double integral, change of variables for triple integrals The next section we will study in Chapter 13 is 13.4, Double Integrals in Polar Coordinates. If it has been a while since you've thought about polar coordinates, so I would suggest that you go back and leaf through section 9.4 to refresh your memory. I'll spend a little bit of time in class talking about polar coordinates, but mostly I'm going to assume that you are comfortable and familiar with them and ready to start setting up double integrals...
