When reading 11.1 pay special attention to the following concepts:
- coordinate axes, right-hand rule, octant, projection, distance formula,
equation of sphere.
When reading 11.2 pay special attention to the following concepts:
- vector, scalar, vector length, parallel vectors, vector addition, scalar multiplication,
properties of vectors (p. 692), standard basis vectors, unit vector.
When reading 11.3 pay special attention to the following concepts:
- dot product, orthogonal vectors, properties of dot product (p. 697),
scalar projection of a onto b, vector projection of a onto b.
When reading 11.4 pay special attention to the following concepts:
- cross product, geometric interpretation of the cross product, properties of cross product (p.706),
cross product and parallel vectors, cross product and scalar triple product and volume.
When reading 11.5 pay special attention to the following concepts:
- equations for lines, skew lines, symmetric equations, equations for planes, parallel planes,
note how to obtain an equation of a plane given different starting information.
