Personal Stuff: Jody Trout

I am an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Dartmouth College, which is located on the Connecticut River in the small ivy-covered town of Hanover of the granite state of New Hampshire. My Bachelor's degree is from the College of Charleston (1986), my Master's degree is from Clemson University (1988), and my Doctoral degree is from the Math Department at Penn State University (1995). My PhD thesis advisers were Paul Baum and Nigel Higson.

On January 9, 2008, I co-hosted a Special Session on "E-theory, Extensions, and Elliptic Operators" at the Joint AMS-MAA Mathematics Meeting in San Diego.

On October 10, 2007, I gave a colloquium at the University of Houston.

On October 17,  2007, I gave the UG Parabola Math Talk at TCU.

During October 19-21, 2007, I attended the Texas Geometry & Topology Conference.

On October 25 & 26, 2007, I gave two talks at the University of Arizona.

On November 27, 2006, I gave a talk on the fourth dimension at my alma mater, the College of Charleston.

On October 24, 2006, I gave the Frank Stones Research Lecture at Texas Christian University.

In November 2005, I received a Senior Faculty Research Grant from Dartmouth College for the Summer 2006 term.

During October 2005, I lectured and visited the Institute for Mathematics, Astrophysics and Particle Physics (IMAPP) at Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

During September 12-18, 2004, I was invited to give a research talk in the Noncommutative Geometry Workshop at the  Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach (MFO) in Germany.

On June 20, 2004, I gave a research talk at the C*-Algebras and Quantum Information Theory Conference in Los Angeles, California.

During October 4-11, 2003, I was invited to give a talk in the VIP Forum of the International IPSI-2003 Conference in Sveti Stefan, Montenegro (Former Yugoslavia). The conference was devoted to the Internet, Processing Systems, and Interdisciplinary Research (=IPSI). A copy of my conference paper can be found here.

During the Fall 2001-Spring 2002 academic year, I was on sabbatical leave (visiting such places as Belgium, Greece, and Hawaii.)

During 2001-2002, I was the McLane Family Research Fellow. In 2000, I was awarded a second research grant from the National Science Foundation.
