| Research Interests: | My research interests are in mathematical logic, particularly computability theory (recursion theory) and related areas, and set theory. My work in set theory includes work on forcing, independence results, and areas linking set theory and computability theory (e.g., degrees of constructibility.) In computability theory, I have worked on classical computability theory (e.g., computably enumerable degrees and priority arguments), and on questions linking computability theory with proof-theoretic strength and "reverse mathematics." I direct thesis students in any of these areas. I am also interested in questions about how people learn mathematics, and in ways of teaching mathematics. | ||||||||||
