Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London

The Philosophical Transactions was the main publication of the Royal Society of London for the Promotion of Natural Knowledge. First published in 1665, it was one of the first journals of its kind, containing abstracts (and translations of abstracts) of various scientific articles, letters, and reports from across Europe. Initially published privately by the Secretary of the Royal Society, the Philosophical Transactions formally came under the auspices of the Royal Society itself in 1751. Its publication concluded in 1791, with a final total of 81 volumes.

Five of Euler's works were published in the Philosophical Transactions, all of them translations of letters he had written to various English scientists. They are given here below:
