I graduated from Cornell University in 1974 with a degree in mathematics. I then enrolled in graduate school at the University of California at Berkeley where I finished my Ph.D. under Marc Rieffel. My first job was at Texas A&M University which was a unique experience at a unique place. I left many good friends behind when I was fortunate enough to get a position at Dartmouth College in 1985 where I have been ever since. I was vice Chair under Ken Bogart and Jim Baumgartner and served as Chair of the Department from 1998 to 2004. During my term as Chair I helped oversee the design of Kemeny Hall. We occupied the Kemeny in the fall of 2007 with the building 98% complete. I hope to live to see it finished.
